Where do I stand after receiving an expiation notice for doing 58 in a 50 zone and there is no signage along the road whatsovever. The road is quite long and I would say a main road.

If there are no signs, then the default speed limit applies, which in a built up area is 50km/h.

Adding to Scruff note, if you have a good clean driving record, you may ask for review and raise the point there were no signs and you thought it was 60 zone and you were 58, that may give you a chance.
