Hello, my boyfriend's ex girlfriend has fallen pregnant and has just had the child. She's harassing my boyfriend and forcing him to take a DNA test as she has put in a claim for child support from him, but he believes it is not his child and now has to pay to travel to have the DNA testing done. He had to take days off work which we can not afford; we are really struggling financially, so we were wondering if the child turns out not to be his, can we then put a claim to get our child support money back, or have her pay it back to him? Or do we have to just lose all that money and income because of her harassment and greed?

Hi Melissa,
If the DNA/paternity test results are negative, then your boyfriend may consider sending a letter of demand to his former girlfriend.
Is your boyfriend already paying (or been ordered to pay) child support to his former girlfriend via Child Support?

Hello John,
No he hasn't started paying yet and refused to as he believes it is not his and he doesn't believe he should pay it until the results come back it is just annoying because he has had to pay to travel to have to test done twice and had to take two days off work which has lost us a bit of money. Just not sure if we can get it back or not as we do need it.
