My mother died 3 weeks ago. She was sharing her rental property with her estranged husband. Can my sister and I legally gain access to the property to collect our mothers personal belongings ( clothes and personal papers) from her bedroom?
Her Will was with the public trustee and a manager from the Public Trustees Office told me on Thursday that we could go and get our mothers personal papers etc as they didn’t form part of the Will. However our mothers estranged husband phoned Friday night after public trustees office closed to say that we could not remove anything from the house.
