I think debt collectors are trying to get into contact with me and the only thing that might be hanging over my head is a credit card debt from the early 2000's in which I haven't made any payments to since 2002 or early 2003 at the very latest. So I understand the situation in NSW that the debt might be extinguished after 6 years or a further 12 if they have a court judgement. I doubt something like that has happened because I would have remembered but I'm also now aware that it can happen without my knowledge.

So is it a simple matter to find out if there has been a court judgement against me? This one would be more than 5 years old and probably removed from my credit report, and what is your opinion either way?

Thank you
