I recently bought a ute from a private seller. The dealer had said everything was in fine working condition. Had only had the ute for 4 days. As I was driving along, the ute made a funny noise. I turned the ute off and checked everything over.

I then went to start the ute again and it wouldn't start. I contacted the seller after this had happened and he told me everything should be fine and that he does not want anything to do with ute anymore as it is no longer his. Took it over to our local dealer and they then informed me that the motor had dropped the number 1 piston and I now needed a new motor.

Could you please help me with anything I may be able to do under Australian Consumer Law, or do I just have to wear the costs myself?
