Hi,
I'm processing a will as the executor, but just found out that the name of the deceased is spelt wrong (an extra "e" in the middle name) on the death certificate and land ownership paperwork. The name is spelt correctly in passport and will (without the "e"). What do I need to do before applying for Probate?
Thanks for your help!

Before applying for probate, you should prepare a short affidavit or statutory declaration explaining that the deceased was known by both versions of their name, and that the extra “e” on the death certificate and land records is a spelling error. Attach supporting documents such as the will and passport (with the correct name) to confirm identity. This affidavit, along with the documents, should be submitted with your probate application to clarify the discrepancy and avoid delays.
