Hello,

A friend of mine has been charged with theft. There is a mistake on the Police statement with regards to the amount of goods allegedly taken, if this is proven can the statement be made inadmissible in Court. Thanks in advance.

No, from my understanding that is a clerical or admin error as you can say, it will not make the statement inadmissible, This is my understanding, the police are humans and humans do mistakes, it would be expected from the police to review their statement before issuing it, but I don't think this mistake is out of incompetence but due to being called for urgent police work.
This type of error will not change the fact your friend did a theft and did the crime, so police and the court are there to stop crime not be clerical clerks.
I am not a lawyer and I maybe wrong, someone will correct me if I am wrong.
