I was in a similar situation and found that the carers discount really helped when things got tight financially. It’s worth checking if you’re eligible, especially if you’ve been the live-in carer for a while. That small saving made ongoing costs a bit more manageable after Mum passed, especially during timeframes when the estate hadn’t been fully sorted yet.
