Does legal insurance cover family law matters such as cost to other party etc I am covers legally by about 50 k

You'd need to check the terms of your policy. However, generally speaking, no. Legal expenses insurance is usually to cover you in the event of a claim made against the insured in specific areas such as personal injuries, employment or contract dispute. I've never heard of coverage for family law matters.
