My daughter has seizures. But they have to be triggered by a noise of about 15kHz and after a trigger she has 20-30 minutes before any seisure actually presents. About two weeks ago my daughter's license was unexpectantly reinstated. We rang the police to check and were informed that the license was ok but they would check. Next day we received another notice it was cancelled again. It was cancelled the time before that by letter. We received notification three days after it was cancelled as they did not allow time for postage. To get it back each time she needs to see a neurologist and it will be reinstated. She has been through this quite a few times. So far she has sent them 6 neurologist reports and three from doctors. But we know that any renewal will be only temporary.
We decided to appeal, but the only appeal option is to go to court. That means 6 people had to alter their routines for the whole day. We went to court ready to explain that the RTA had even changed her medical diagnoses without consulting her doctor or her neurologist. And to ask the RTA to stop cancelling her license without one of her doctors asking them to do so.
She has been driving over twenty years, never had an accident or lost any points off the license or broken any laws. At court the judge unexpectently did not address anything or allow us to say anything. just postponing proceeding for two more weeks until the rta has the time to read its own correspondence, She has a file about 25mm thick from them. To get a neurologist appointment takes about three months here in the sticks and they know that, it also costs $300 each time, she's lost two jobs, the kids miss activities. Is this another one of those computer debt type problems or is someone really that vindictive.
