Hi ellispalmos - I just saw your post and not sure if you had assistance with your second question.
1. Telling doctor about your injuries: I completely agree with Rob Legat. When it comes to insurance or compensation matters, the insurer will heavily rely upon medical evidence and reports. If you do not provide sufficient details to your doctor then the insurer wouldn't know the severity of your injury, hence your claim may not continue.
2. Steps for claiming compensation: This depends on how and where your injury occurred. ie;
- if your injury occurred during work then you can claim Workers Compensation.
- if your injury occurred in a motor vehicle accident then you may claim for Motor Vehicle Accident Compensation
- if your injury occurred inside a shop, mall, someone's house due to their negligence then you may put forward a Public Liability Claim.
Hence depending on how your injury occurred and where it occurred will determine the claiming compensation process.
I hope this answers your question.
