I split with my boyfriend of 2.5yrs a few weeks ago. He is a tradesman which is how we met. He offered to do cash work which I accepted and he carried out the original job. Over our time together he built a carport at my house which I partially paid for, he didn’t want any more money so this was considered a gift.
We split and he has harassed me via text, phone, messenger. I blocked from all, now he has even started sending letters to which I haven’t replied to anything. He has now sent an invoice for $2.5k for this work. Am I obliged to pay for a gift from my boyfriend at the time that was his suggestion in the first place?
