When I married I kept my surname and did not change my surname to that of my husband's surname . I recently found out that my surname on my mother's will has been recorded as my husband's surname . Could that be a problem ? Should I talk to her about this or is that something that can be easily sorted at the time the will is acted upon ?

If the Executor knows who you are, and there is no dispute about your entitlement,
and no prospect of confusing you with another beneficiary, then it should not be an issue.

Personally I would get it fixed. These thing can cause a surprising amount of grief if the wrong person / bank/ trustee gets wind of it and decides to be pedantic.

If your mother is still alive, then, as Winston says,
see if she is prepared to change it.
An ounce of effort now will certainly help avert needless difficulty
at an already difficult time.
