VIC I got cought shoplifting in big w what next?

Hi everyone,

I was stupidly dared to shop lift some sandles that were 15$ from Big W.

After going through the checkout and paying for items we did intend to purchase I was approached upon our exit by two plain clothed LPO’s, they asked to see what was in my bag and asked me to put the shoes on the ground and said that they would let me off with a warning they asked for my licence and took a photo of me I ended up paying for the shoes and I was just wondering why they needed my details and a photo and what happens next

Yes, you are exactly as stupid as you feel.

However, it is your lucky day.
If you paid for it, then there is no offence. It's over.

As to taking your details, the only reason is to intimidate you out of future similar conduct.
And maybe the shop also keeps a blacklist.

One last thing... These people are not your friends.
Get some new ones.
