Hello.

My husband is a natural born Australian citizen, currently living and working in the USA on a permanent 10-year green card. We were wondering if he took US citizenship, would it impact his Australian citizenship in any way?

Thank you for your time.

Hi TaraAnn,
I don't believe so. I have read its a bit of a don't ask situation. Basically the when you take a US citizenship oath you denounce allegiance to all other countries, so as long as he can live with himself saying that, then its fine. Both countries have accepted dual citizenship since 2004.
