I need a great family lawyer who can fight for me to ensure my son is safe with me his mother. I need a lawyer in the Gippsland Victoria area. If anyone knows of a great lawyer please let me know.

Is the mediation court ordered, or the first step before going to court? One thing with mediation is that you do not need to agree to anything, you have the right to say no at anytime.

It’s fist step.

But I’ve done medication before and we were only dealing with each other’s laws no court and went on for over a year.

So his basically my husband walked out on me twice.

I'm in a similar spot and trying to figure out whether it's better to go with someone local or if doing everything over email and phone works just as well. I went through something similar last year and ended up switching lawyers halfway through because things just weren’t moving. I actually found my current lawyer by looking up a homicide lawyer for a friend—same firm handled family stuff too, and they were great. Maybe check out firms that have experience in both areas, since they’re usually more prepared for court strategy.
