NSW False statement advo

I made a false statement to the police about my ex hitting me he now has been charged and it says on his paper work he will go to jail for 5 years how do I fix it so to speak can I go to the police and change my statement.. I took photos of where I said I was hit when In fact I hurt my self earlier

Not easy.... the issue is will they believe you or your original statement.. All you can do is tell them that you lied & why.. Pretty much up to the cops after that
