Ex admitted on Facebook (and to police) to physically abusing me. Our children are her Facebook friends so can read the wide range of commentary. A friend commented on my ex page that I should be hit again.

Any recourse?

Hi MaxSupport,

The statements she is making about you online could potentially be defamatory. Check out this article on defamation and see whether you can make out all the requirements to establish a cause of action: Have You Been Defamed? What You Need to Know About Defamation Law in Australia - Legal Blog - LawAnswers.com.au

She may also be in breach of Facebook terms and conditions of use.

Finally, if you wished to press charges for the physical abuse, perhaps you should take a screen shot of the statements to use it as evidence. They could also be used as an indication of her character in any future family court proceedings or custody disputes.
