Hey guys,

I've just started a new job. In the interview, I was told the person I was replacing didn't like the area because the clients were a bit "blokey" and she felt a little worried, so they were looking for a male.

2 days into the job I found out the real reason from one of the clients, the girl was attacked and bashed, not once, but twice. The area is a rough area and I haven't had much of an issue other than a few locals yelling at me while doing my job.

I have asked the HR person if there is anything I need to know about why the girl isn't doing the area, only to be told it was nothing really, however, every other person working in public have been offered a alert thing, while I haven't.

If I had of known what happened, I would have asked for more money, almost a "danger wage".

What should & can I do about this under Employment Law? I need this job.

So, you were lied to by your employer at the interview?
Not exactly a good basis upon which to start.
