5 yrs ago I jus got bk from S.A I did a year straight no drugs or alcohol . Then I accused of of a terrible crime .I was automatically judged put on tv national I got a lawyer and wasn't charged . 5 yrs later police paid me visit apologiesed and said they got it wrong . The mental stress anxiety and worse my character or profile damaged.

5 years is too long ago for legal claim of defamation, it is outside the statute of limitations.
You may have other causes of action but you need to see a lawyer. There's a very high hurdle to jump before you would be entitled to anything.
