I am trying to determine what the prefix letters that precede magistrate court hearing codes mean.

I see codes like this for example.
Q123456 and P123465

Does anyone know what the Q and the P means?

VIC Court code prefixes can be a bit confusing at first, but they usually just indicate the type of case and the court handling it. Once you get familiar with them, it becomes much easier to understand legal documents and case listings.
