I am wanting to know my rights in regard to my local council putting a Judgement against me and ruining my financial life, when they told me that if I entered into a payment plan with them this would not happen...
I was advised by their legal rep that the summons was"just a bit of paper" and if I started a payment plan, a judgement would not happen. So I did not attend court and this is what happened, plus they added $900 in legal fees.
The original amount owing was less than $1500.
