Hi Again,
After the great advice provided on this site, my father is going ahead with getting a consent order.
He is 80 years old and doesn't have a lot of money. I have prepared a draft of the consent order for the solicitor, which has been verbally agreed by both parties. There are no children involved, just 50/50 distribution of cash and house.
If everything if straightforward, how much (ballpark) is it reasonable for a solicitor to charge for preparing and lodging the consent order?

Probably good idea to get a few quotes... Some offer a first (short) consult free so you should be able to get a quote after having them see your draft & what is involved...

I think the average is around the $400-450 an hour mark, plus paperwork etc....
