WA Car Accident Causing Injury - Court Sentence?

Hi. I was involved in a car accident and I was driving whilst drunk. I hit a motorcycle coming the other way and injured the passenger of the bike. I have a court date for 6 March. I was a lot over the legal limit drink driving. What can I expect to get in court?

If you are convicted of simple DUI you will usually get a fine and period of license disqualification. However for serious drink driving offences which it sounds yours may be, imprisonment is also on the cards. You should probably see a lawyer.

In addition to any criminal liability , there is a chance the motorcycle rider will sue you for compensation for the injuries that he sustains under civil law.

The degree of your sentence will also of course depend on prior convictions or traffic offences and license disqualifications etc.
