I was charged with an offence and my mobile phone was taken by police and held. I was unable to produce evidence as I was in custody and police had the evidence at hand.

Given I could not produce evidence I plead guilty at the local court.

After I was sentenced police returned my device in which the evidence clearly shows that I was not guilty of the offence.

I was also at the time suffering from mental health issues impacting my decision making.

Give the circumstances and the fact that I have my phone back proving my innocence Can I request leave from the district court and adduce new evidence to the district court?

This may get you an appeal. Get medical evidence of this for the court.

Not sure how many days you have in NSW before the appeal timeframe expires.

NSW is currently enjoying a wave of... judicial impatience... police who conceal or withhold exculpatory material.
You'll need case-specific legal advice from a lawyer who works in the field of criminal appeals.
