Hi all,

So we've recently moved into an area (not that it's a real excuse) and we accidentally parked in a no-stopping zone at the beginning of last week. We each catch the bus to work each day and the car was left there for 3 days before we used it again on Wednesday night. Unfortunately for us, on each Thursday, Friday, and Monday following, however, we received a parking fine for stopping in a no-stopping zone (1 for each day we were parked there - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).

We would never park in a no-stopping zone on purpose, especially for 3 days straight. And if the little yellow envelope were placed on the windscreen after day 1 we'd have seen it as we walked past it each morning and moved the car. Instead, it's a fine sent to us in the mail :(

Do you think we have a case for pleading for leniency, paying only one of the parking fines, copping it on the nose, and having learnt a lesson?

Thanks very much!

First step is to write to the council, explain situation and see what they say.
