WA Bought Secondhand Car from Dealer - Rights Under Australian Consumer Law?

Bought a second-hand car from a dealer 6 months ago. Since then it's constantly giving us trouble and we've had a couple of near accidents due to that. The dealer continuously takes the car to be inspected/fixed and returns it. It has happened 6 times now, but the problem returns. They won't refund the money.

Australian Consumer Law has said they can only lobby the dealer. We want to know our legal rights and if it's worth pursuing.
