Hi,
I was just a bit confused as to how who is part of the executive branch of the Australian government is chosen?
I know that the party with the greatest number of representatives in the lower house will be the leading party and as such the prime minister can choose a body of individuals to be part of the cabinet, but does that mean the cabinet must all be made of individuals belonging to the leading party?
Also is the executive purely made up of the cabinet or are there other components to it as well? Must all members of the executive belong to the current leading party under Australian Law?
Thankyou so much!
