NSW Australian Citizenship Application - Unknowingly Concealed Criminal Record?

Hi there,

I didn't mention an offence which I've done 2years ago in my Australian citizenship application because I've been told that it wont be shown anywhere. So I thought it's completely removed from my criminal record. Now Department of Citizenship asked me to explain why I didn't mention it in my application?

Could you please help me? I didn't mean to hide anything, I just didn't know that there is something in my records. Could you please tell me how should I convince them that I'm not a bad person?
