If a neighbour complains about a persons pet does that person have the right to know who made the complaint? An animal control person from a Sydney council suggested I have no right to the identity of the complainant.

I would definitely compete with you for the championship. Raccoons have moved into my house. Thanks to them, my morning begins not with coffee, but with a nervous breakdown. I sleep very soundly at night, so I don't hear any rustling in the ventilation system. I accidentally heard a rustle in the afternoon. It turned out that raccoons are warming up in my ventilation system. I tried traps and poisons, but they were unsuccessful. I had to turn to specialists raccoon removal. The guys are licensed professionals. I would have had to move if it wasn't for them. It was just unbearable.

I beg to differ and say yes.
The same thing happened to me and not only about barking dogs which I disagree with but other clearly false complaints which I have proof (ie someone lying and saying we leave our bins out far too long, days on end, after they are collected) such as our cctv pointing directly at them when they are on the nature strip and I EVERY SINGLE TIME WITHOUT FAIL COLLECT THEM IMMEDIATELY and have the proof! I have complained to the council and they refuse to give out the information and I asked what about if I file a FOI request? And they said, maybe yes you could then.

I would like to take legal action against the liar who made the false allegations up and wonder what course of action I can take. Defamation? Malicious prosecution? Abuse of power?
