In the NFP incorporated association (hobby club) that I belong to, both in the constitution and in the by-laws the management committee is referred to as "the committee", but the current committee call themselves "the executive" or "the executive committee".

Are decisions and motions that are recorded with the term/s "the executive" or "the executive committee" binding?

I don't expect the Victorian situation will be different to the Queensland one.

As long as they are they duly constituted management committee, it doesn't matter what they call themselves. The old adage "if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck; it's probably a duck" applies.
