I need cases that were successful for proof of malice, defamation via emails, defamation through newspapers, and being defamed in a meeting and any committee.

Hi 7 and 3

These may be helpful ..

The leading English case on malice is Horrocks v Lowe [1975] AC 135 where Lord Diplock defined & described express malice as an act that 'makes use of an occasion for an indirect purpose'. See also Browne v Dunn (1893).

Proof of malice in defamation contained in written material used for political purposes - Roberts v Bass [2002] HCA 57 at [62].

And see Lange v Australian Broadcasting Corporation (1997) 189 CLR 520 where the defence of qualified privilege is defeated when actuated by malice.

Regards

See also Hockey v Fairfax Media [2015] FCA 652 relating to a newspaper article where malice was found to be present. Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey was awarded $200 000. His legal costs however far outweighed the amount awarded for defamation.
