We need advice on how to get out of a timeshare agreement we signed in Orlando, USA, recently.
The cooling off period has expired but on returning home to Victoria and our financial situation has changed plus we discovered more about these arrangements that we were not happy about.

We have paid a deposit, but have not paid the balance. Can we just not pay?

Thank you.

Hi Camilo,

What does it say under your time-share agreement?

If you decide to just not pay, you risk (1) having your deposit forfeited, and (2) having them start an action in court for breach of contract. However, if you tell them early enough, there may be time for them to find a new time-share family. Try contacting the landlord or other family and explaining to them your financial situation and why you want to now get out of the contract.
