I touched someone without their consent on the breast (we are both adults) and I got charged with "sexually touching someone without consent" This was 4 years ago, I was honest with the police and didn't have a lawyer, I was charged with sexually touching someone without consent. I did all the programs as guided by my parole officer. I know i made a mistake at 21 years of age i am 25 now, I have learned from it. Only thing is I'm a working professional now, and want to go for the best jobs out there. Only thing is my criminal records clearly states "sexually touching someone without consent" ?
1. Am I not eligible to get jobs? I did get a nice job 2 years ago, and I got a phone call saying I got the job from the hiring manager, then they sent me few documents for background checks (employer history ) I got scared and call the hiring manager and told him about my past offence. He ghosted me for a week, and when I called back he told me sorry the company's decision is not to have me.
2. I got this amazing opportunity of working on what I love in a org, where children who with cancer are looked after, my potential job is videographer. I need Working with children check, am I able to obtain one? i haven't obtained one before because I never had to. And also I need to submit Police Check.
What are my chances, please? Not just for this job but moving forward in life?
