I had my property seized and when I got it returned, they gave me back a category R weapon, a taser. A month later, I was arrested and received a number of charges including 50 (1)(c)(i) unlawful possession of weapons category d/h/r weapon. Since the police gave me the weapon, can I get the charges dropped or sue the police for entrapment? Are there documents of what was returned to me that I can obtain to prove it under Criminal Law?

Hi there, I would obtain some personalised legal advice. Find a criminal lawyer or contact legal aid or a community legal centre in your area.
