QLD Received Compensation from Scam - Do I Have to Pay Tax?

Hi there,

I was scammed a large amount of money approx. 5 years ago by an overseas company. I have now only just received my money back in full as well as compensation for my suffering.

My question is, will I have to pay tax on this money which I have received?

Not sure about the extra monies.
