Hi Folks,

I understand that the Act states that a rental provider must approve any reasonable sublet (or something to that effect)

I finally persuaded my landlord/agent to agree. However, the original lease states they must approve anyone who moves in.

The real estate wants them to apply as though they were going on the lease (even though I am the sole lessee and fully responsible for the lease and bond) and so far has taken over 1 month.

Do we still have to follow this process, and does the rental provider have to approve/vet every potential tenant?

Yes and yes.

Imagine the scenario where the landlord doesn't have the right and you sublet a 1 bedroom apartment to a family of 6 with 2 dogs.

Thanks Rod. The link in your signature doesn't work. It goes to a 404 error.
