What is the consequence of purchasing land without title. Land has been carved up by farmer and sold off without title. Where would one stand with regards to purchasing one of these?
That's going to be a big problem. Tasmania has a Torrens title system, where land description and ownership is administered by government register. If the farmer hasn't properly subdivided and registered the lots, then it's a huge mess. How that can happen is almost unbelievable as surely some conveyancer or solicitor was involved in a purchase somewhere - and they would have picked up on the issue immediately.
