Within their rights to refuse ..... If the other party wants to engage a professional valuer, then they should pay for it..
Important differences... A real estate agent appraisal is not an actual property valuation... more of an educated guess at what the agent thinks the property might fetch on the current market..... a professional valuer on the other hand values the property an a different set of criteria..... a professional valuation is what is usually required in a property settlement, particularly if there is a dispute over the actual value
