I'm moving into my new rental on Saturday and I signed my lease but my garden is a mess. Weeds everywhere and toys and lawns need to be done. What do I do or say to the agent who looks after the property?

I'd really have no idea what my property rights are I've already paid the bond.

Lease is the starting point. Check your lease to see if has anything about the garden and lawns in it.

Take photos of everything when you move in and note everything down in the condition report.

Assuming you are moving into a house, in Victoria the tenant is normally responsible for garden maintenance.
