I am having nearly the same problem as "Can I Sue Car Dealer for Selling Me A Repaired Write-off?". Except mine is with a private seller. I bought the car 4 years ago (Not knowing what revs was at that time.) I bought a car with 30,000kms on it. The seller had told me it had never been in a crash or nothing. So yesterday I went to trade it in. And the dealer looked it up on revs check and came up written off. So now I don't know what to do. I can't trade the car in because no on will take it? I've pretty much just lost $24000 on this now. Thank you!

Hi Jimmy,

Do you have your previous seller's representation that "the car has never been in a crash" in writing? If this was relied upon and incorporated into the purchase price, you may be able to sue the original seller for damages.

Here are some websites and agencies that may be worth a call to see if they are able to help you:

- Roads & Maritime: Written-off vehicle laws 2013 changes; contact
- Revscheck contact
