Was formally interviewed and admitted to 1 count of criminal damage, but still waiting on formal charge.

How likely would I be to receive a diversion? This is my 1st offence, and last.

I'd say because of no prior record this may result in a fine & possible good behaviour bond. Although you were interviewed & admitted guilt, speaking to a lawyer may be most beneficial to discuss what the possibilities are.
