I spoke to an electrician on the phone saying we wanted a quote for work on the meter box. I understood him to visit us beween jobs - calling in on the way past. This could have been a mistake on my part. However,
1. He called in and looked at the meter box. He said he would write a report/quote but left without doing so.
2.He phoned after a couple of days and asked for my email address. I had given it before but told him again. In this conversation he said that he would email a report and then for the first time mentioned there would be a "small" callout fee. After some days an invoice for $165 callout came.
We still have no written report or quote.
I know businesses need to charge fees but when the service is unsatisfactory do we still have to pay?
