My partner is in the watch house for 3 failure to appear. He was seen in court today but it was adjourned until tomorrow and he has to stay in custody...our lawyer didn't even ask for bail?

I understand he has missed court 3 times. 2 are for on the gold coast, our lawyer miscommunicated the 2nd date and we were already back in Townsville.

My lawyer said they might send my partner to jail?

Should he have asked for bail today? Should I find a criminal lawyer that will be more aggressive?

I don't think they should have applied for bail today. It's actually quite rare to apply for bail on what sounds like the first appearance.

This is because bail applications require a decent amount of work and time for preparation. I would give an instruction to your lawyer that you wish to make an application to bail as soon as possible though.
