    hi all..
What weight does a supervisors report have if a parent has been substantiated that child abuse happened while the baby
    Was in thier care?

It doesnt adress the issue at hand, just will show she hasnt done anything in front of the supervisors.

They have asked for the report to reflect her interactions with the children, how thier relationship appears and if they have any concerns.

I’m just wondering how this would impact anything or how it could change anything- given the very serious nature of the abuse.
    Cheers
    Maddi

Are you talking about a report from, say, a contact centre?

Or are you talking about a report from a family consultant/family report writer?

Well, a report from a contact centre has limits - as you said, they can only report their observation of what actually happens during the time between the parent and child. Even if a risk has been reported and substantiated by another party, the contact centre can’t write a report speculating on that alleged risk unless they actually witness such a risk in action.

So, a report from a contact centre won’t negate allegations of abuse if they’ve been raised by the other parent or another party - such a report doesn’t prove that a risk doesn’t exist (noting, of course, that the onus of proof is on the party making the allegations - the onus is on them to prove their allegations are substantiated)

A report from a family report writer is more able to comment on the allegations of abuse because it’s not just within the scope of supervising. It’s written based on interviews with both parents and children, consideration of other evidence and various other factors, from the perspective of a person qualified to make such observations (usually someone with an education in psychology).

Yes that's pretty much what Lawyer has said and it certainly wont negate the matter at hand.
Its just tiring all this adversarial stuff her lawyer keeps trying to throw at us... she made application to have all our psych/hospital reports supeonaed but the ICL asked them to prove relevance and they haven't been able to even though they tried to state the mental health of who the kids are living with
was relevant.. no the metal health of the person who abused the child is the relevant point here!!!
