VIC Notice Required for Lease Termination?

I have a periodic verbal lease agreement with a family member, for the use of a retail property, and I wish to vacate the property to establish elsewhere. They claim that the agreement was to provide 6 month notice, although it was not assented upon as part of the terms of the agreement, and I want to know what the proper notice of termination would be required, and what legislation is required to follow in this situation in Victoria?
