HI , l was is great health until July Last year when l noticed when l went for walks l felt off balance and legs felt weak, l went to my doctor and he said l should have x rays of my knees . The guy who took the x rays said my knees looked normal, l saw my doctor and he said the results show some very minor early stage artritis, probably normal for someone my age in my 50's and that explains my balance and walking problems. My walking and balance kept getting worse and worse over next 6 months l went back to my doctor 7 times telling him its getting worse and l can hardly walk at all, each time l saw him he said its just a little bit of arthritis and nothing to worry about. l aksed him if its only arthritis why can l hardly walk at all and feel offblance, he just said to lose weight and see a physiotherapist.
Then in Decemeber l collapsed in the supermarket and an ambulance took me to hospital and they did a MRI scan which showed l have muliple scleoris and over 30 lesions in my spine and brain which was the reason for my walking problems not arthritis that my doctor had been telling me for the past 6 months.
l beleive a competant doctor over 6 months and 7 visits to him would have known that minor arthritis would not explain why l could hardly walk at all and felt offbalance and would have explored other options and if he did so my multiple sclerosis would have been caught earlier and started the drug treatment earlier to stop the muliple sclerosis attacks which would have avoided alot of permenent damage to my brain and spine and my walking and functions would be much better then they are now . Do you think l should speak to a lawyer? it would have to be a no win no fee lawyer, do you think l would have a case, or would it be too difficult to win such a case
