At what age will a court give consideration to the opinions of a child?. My 6+ yo grandson hates going to his fathers house. The man is a narcissist and bully who enjoys belittling the boy. When can the boy's choice to spend less time with his dad be considered by the Family Court?

Are there orders in place? ... Currently in court to get orders?

Generally wishes & opinions are provided to the court via a family consultant report or ICL (if they consider it warranted) .... As a rule a child needs to be of an age whereby they are mature enough to understand the issues in hand, that's generally accepted to be around the age of 12.

Yes, there are court orders in place
Then both parties must follow them until or unless they can agree to a new order by consent or enter into a properly prepared parenting plan.... Kids don't get to choose, especially as young as six.

If there are genuine concerns about the child's welfare, then you should approach the relevant state organisations that can conduct interviews and look into your concerns.
