my friend is acupuncturist, he recently received a letter from the Office of the Health Ombudsman regarding an investigation into a patient's claim of sexual assault during treatment. They have requested access to the patient's files. he has sent the patient's file last week ,
This situation has taken him by complete surprise. With over thirty years of practicing acupuncture , he never encountered such an allegation. he want reaching out to your office.
What is next step process? or waiting OHO reply?

The first thing he needs to do is
to contact both a lawyer who works in the medical defence space
and his professional indemnity insurer,
for case specific advice.
This will become complicated, and will cost him money,
and Legal Aid will not help him.
