Hey guys, stuck on a trick question, I have most of it figured out, just stuck on partial defences:

The legal problem involves the defendant hacking into a hospital to see how a friend is doing but this results in malfunctioning of patients, blood-thinning machinery. The question asks if any partial defence can be taken. I am getting inclined to say no partial defences can be taken. However, starting to feel this is a trick question? Because the defendant was distraught and worried about his friend. Is that a basis for a partial defence? Like extreme provocation or something?

Regards
